is it possible to make a 3 knob Ibanez FL301 flanger with a 'manual' control like MXR and others..?? (tweaking the degree of phasing)...
how about swapping one of the trimmer with a standard pot. will it work..??...

i wonder if the new/re-issue MXR117 flanger still use those reticon SAD1024...

Scruffie

I can confidently say the re-issue MXRs are not using SAD1024, maybe 1506 (or is it the 5106, something like that) like the Electric Mistress.

I reckon so, there's probably a few ways you could go about it. Are you planning on buying one and modding it or making a clone from tonepad or somewhere?

I'd say look around the width control on the schematic, it's controlling the amplitude of the lfo. Connecting a pot in there wired with lug-1 to ground, lug-3 to +V and lug-2 as the output would provide a voltage to change the delay time manually, not sure if it'd work just slapping it in there. The full voltage might be too much and the sweep might be too wide, plus it's not a good idea to just slap it in there, you'd be better off using a summing amp to add the voltage to the lfo voltage, unless you disconnect the lfo and switch in the manual control.

something like changing the trimmer to a pot,..? yep i'v done that.. true.. the sweep are waaay to wide :icon_biggrin: some cool oscillation too...

depends which trimmer, there is one actually wired up like I said, right after the width control, that'd act like a manual control, guessing that's the one you've found. I should probably look closer at schematics before I answer posts.  :icon_redface:

Look at the Boss BF-2 schem, it has the manual control.
