ummmmmm (Ra) ? :icon_confused:

ETA: I take it that along with the 150k Ra resistor, the other two orange components (2m2 resistor/47pu cap) that are not on the parts list can be omitted.........Do i use a jumper in there place?

If you look at the whole PDF at Tonepad which that layout has been clipped from, you'll see Ra mentioned in the Notes section.
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.

QuoteLower Ra's value to allow faster than stock release.

That really dose not help :icon_rolleyes:

Ra is adjustable.  You adjust it to where you want it.

If you want to build the stock version, I would use a 150k for Ra.  I would keep the 2.2M resistor (I think that will help prevent popping) and I would leave the 4.7pF capacitor out and you don't need to replace it with a jumper.

If you want to speed up the effect release, substitute a lower value resistor for Ra.

HI. FIRST, SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH, HABLO ES ESPAÑOL MEN, BUT I WANT HELP YOU, JUST TODAY I FINISHED THIS PROJECT, TONEPAD FILES HAVE SOME ERRORS, BUT LOOKIN' ON THE WEB I FOUND THE SOLUTION..... AND MY NOISE GATE IT'S OK, WORKS VERY WELL. READ THAT (I FOUND THIS AFTER 6 MONTHS WITH MY NG IN THE CLOSET JEJE)....
All schematics on the web concerning the MXR Noisegate are wrong including the one from tonepad.
Referring to version 2 from 2003 (which I have on my HD):

- Input cap is in reality 10n (0.03) input resistor 10k.
- The 10µ electrolytic between the 22k and the FET is drawn in the wrong direction -
positive should be on the Fet-side.
- Output cap is 10µ instead of 1µ.
- the capacitor before Q2 in parallel to the 100k is a 10n (0.03) instead of a 1µ.

The source of the FET is connected to U/2 and the drain to the 10µ electrolytic THIS IS THE PART THAT I NEVER UNDERSTAND BUT THE OTHER CAN REPAIR MY PEDAL....    AAAAAAAHHHH!!!! I USE 2N2222A NPN TRANSISTORS AND A 2N5640 FET FROM MOTOROLA (ECG CODE 133 OR SOME ELSE).
IF SOMEBODY HAVE SOME QUESTION MY MAIL IS JUANSNEIDER@HOTMAIL.COM.

P.D. THE TONEPAD FILE IS THE "ORIGINAL" WITHOUT MODS (REV. 2, 11/19/2003), I DON'T THINK THAT THE MODS WORKS IN THIS PROJETC

agree with the dude... done it before .. not work.. end up buying Boss NS-2.. but still not make me happy... it sucks the delay even in loop...
but if you build all ur diy pedal properly, sheilded plus with a good cable and enough power to run them, it wont be noisy...

i run my pedal with 2 power supply, one for gain stuff and the other for color stuff... ;)

Hi sorry for my english( i'm from argentina) ... Can somebody upload a video or an audio of this pedal working ?? I need a noise gate and it is the easier schematic that I found but I want to see how it works please.

Using 2SK30-A JFET works very well on this circuit. Try it!. You have to twist the leads though because it has a different pin assignment.
