Hi all,

I bought a block logo phase 90 about ten years ago and used it quite a bit live.  Somewhere along the line the footswitch broke so I ended up setting it aside and forgetting it even existed.  I found it while rummaging around my parent's house a few weeks back and decided to give a go at replacing the footswitch.  I got the exact same footswitch and soldered it into place fine.  Although there was nothing wrong with it that I knew of beside the switch since replacing it the LED comes on but I get no sound while the pedal is engaged.   I have pretty good soldering skills so I'm ruling out a cold joint on the switch.

I read about one of the diodes near the power supply jack that acts as a fuse of some kind and that it would still work if I clipped that diode, so I did.  I've still got the same thing... led lights, bypass works, but no sound when engaged.  Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what would be causing this pedal not to work?

Don't rule out cold solder joints because you think you have good soldering skills. I'm not saying you don't but cold joints can happen to anybody. Reading the Debugging thread can help us help you. Pictures are also nice if possible.

I'm no expert, but don't transistors go bad sometimes? Maybe Q1 (a 2N4126 in mine) has been damaged. This is between the final phase stage and the output.
How hard can it possibly be to put FRESH vegetables in a can? Seriously.
