This is the Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2. I was wondering if anyone has built up one of these yet? The question I have is the schematic calls for C369 transistors which I assume are 2SC369's NPN Silicons and I was wondering if anyone has one of these old fuzz boxes if they could give me the numbers of the diodes. Any help would be great. Thanks again!
Cheers,
Chris

It's a Superfuzz with a few small changes.  Whatever works in a Superfuzz will work in the Fuzz Master; e.g., 2SC828.

Pigyboy

Thanks Mark. I will do some research into the SuperFuzz.

I've tried the similar circuitry with BC550C trannies successfully. Not sure the sound is pretty impressive, but it works as it should.

I found some 828's for cheap but searching for the 369's I can only find them for over £1 each so I will keep looking. I will try the 550's as I think there are some in my stuff. I need to see what diodes are being used still.
Thank you for the info.

I built one of these about a month ago.  Use 828's.  Sounds great.  If you can I found different flavors experimenting with different diodes.

Pigyboy

Hi glops,
Thanks for that. Did you build yours on one of the Pigeon vintage circuit boards? I bought one of them and it looks great. I will put it together next week and do some diode swapping :icon_eek:

I built mine on perf. gonna tweak it, though. I put some different diode pairs on a switch and one of the selections isn't loud enough. used a 500k audio pot but gonna switch that out for linear taper.  I built this in a rush since I hadn't made anything in awhile but definitely worth a revisit. sounds beautiful and hairy. lots of octave. also want to try the Bruno standard fuzz...

Pigyboy

I just ran across the Bruno the other day. It looked interesting to me too. I found that this circuit is supposed to work just like the original if you can get the 2SC369's.
