Sorry for the strange question, but I hate sending out drilling templates that don't work  :icon_confused:

Does anyone have any measurements for fitting an open frame jack underneath 16mm pots on a 1590 box? I suppose if you take the arm of the jack that connects to the tip and arrange it on the bottom, the tabs can bend down and fit if the jack is lined up vertically under the pot? Oi.

1590B or BB? Either way, I'm having trouble visualizing what you mean.  Are you talking about mounting the pot normally (shafts through face/top of the box) and having the jack mounted through the side (as commonly done), so when the box is right side up the lugs of the jack are crammed in under the body of the pot? If so, sounds like a tight fit in a 1590 (B or BB)- I'd be concerned with the tip connection shorting against the box or the pot when the plug was inserted.  I could be misunderstanding you, though... ???

I don't have a layout however, I can tell you that it CAN BE DONE IN A 1590B or BB ENCLOSURE! One of my first builds was a DOD 250 in a 1590B. I put the in and out jacks under both pots on the short side.  :o

You are a better man than I, sir.  I've done this in a 125B, but never would I have dared thusly in a 1590.  I tip my hat to you.

Hi Chris,

It's an RFD drive which is a circuit pushed by a few stalwarts over at the Wattkins forum. Some info in the pictures thread. http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=36392.msg728241#msg728241 Still need to really explore it's sonics but right out of the gate like it much more then the 808 i built a few years ago. (These days i really liking just slamming the front end of the amps with a clean boost, AMZ Mosfet Booster, SHO, Microamp, messing around on the breadboard.)
Take care!

According to my calculations (and deadly incompetent CAD skills :P ) Enclosed jacks should fit just fine underneath 16mm pots, with a hair of wiggle room.
I prefer enclosed jacks anyways, so YMMV.
What I have done in the past is a mock-up of one corner of a 1590 (following the inside dimensions) using a tin can and some heavy scissors
Then drilled holes and poked parts around.

I like to use a 1590N for this, it's basically the same size as a Boss compact pedal.
