Easy Y box

Hi.
Has anyone built a Y box for plugging 1 guitar into 2 amps.
I am not looking for an ABY box, as this will be a permanent configuration in my bands studio.

I'm pretty sure I know what I need to do, I just wanted to ask if anyone had built one and has a layout?

definite +1 on this. Any simple way to do this and solve all ground loop problems. Never built anything that had transformers [or any type of inductor for that matter]

What I am basically looking for is a rack mounted Y splitter to plug into 2 amps.
As this is going to be a permanent setup, I am not looking for and A/B/Y box
- There will be no need to switch between the amps

1 input, 2 outputs (enabled) no switching between them

Is this not exactly what you are looking for...?

Geofex Transformer Coupled Splitter

Since you want yours to be rack mounted with an on/off switch and presumably without batteries (bipolar power supply, MAX1044, etc.), you could probably rework the section in the dotted line to remove the input jack power switching. You could also omit the direct output as well.

Do a search for transformer coupled splitter. There are some helpful debug/rework topics. No layouts though, I'm afraid.
