The Wavefront Semiconductor website is no longer registered.
I used to have a sales contact for Wavefront IC's but they've not answered my email (yet).
Anyone know of a supplier for the AL3102 other than Profusion (they're a reseller in the UK)?

Mark,

The part is sold by many component (re)sellers you can find using Google, for an example these companies has that part (ALESIS part, maybe an older revision) in stock:

http://parts.usbid.com/AL3102.html
http://www.icelect.com/search2.php?BUY=AL3102
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/329027380/AL3102.html

Actually the Wavefront part number was AL3102CG so you'll find these brokers:

http://www.brokerforum.com/components-parts/WAVEFRONT/AL3102CG-eR-en.jsa
http://www.ic-trade.com/eparts/AL310.html

As you can see the quantities stocked is huge.  Also it looks like from ic-trade.com portail that many companies have recently acquired >5000 pieces of these chips.

The same thing (let's hope Wavefront Semi site is not closed forever) happened with Tripath Class-T (D actually) power amp chips, Tripath doesn't exist anymore by the chips do and are quite popular actually.

Got message from Profusion PLC that Wavefrom Semiconductors is still in business but don't have anything else left than a single sales office with no R&D or technical support. They are going to continue until sales drop below profit, they have already obsoleted the ADC and DAC parts (you can use www.waybackmachine.org to access the old pages, only bits missing from there are the 1KDevSys011.zip and AL3201 developement tools zip package) . Their webpages are gone forever. I guess Profusion is still viable distributor, and they at least answer to emails.

I heard back from a supplier in Asia.
I can get AL3102 parts in quantities of 44 (44 IC's per tube).

I'm going to order a tube and build those 10-pin DSP boards.

I've use the Wavefront ADC and DAC.  While they're easy parts to use they were easily replaced with the WM8731 Stereo Codec.  The Wolfson part has lower power consumption - not sure how it compares performance wise.

I have the Wavefront DSP-1K Assembler (executable file) and it's manual (PDF), as well as the DSP-1K instruction set description (PDF) if anyone wants them.  I obtained them from the Wavefront website a while back.
