Hey guys,
So I'm about to lose my mind.
I built a java boost pedal about a month ago, complete success. However, I then tried building just a simple rangemaster for a friend, failure... It would only change the tone of the pedal but no boost. I scrapped that and figured I could at least build him a simple LPB-1. Wrong... This pedal does the same thing as the RM. (No boost, however tone remains). So Ive come to think I must have some sort of power issue...

Has anyone else had similar issues? I would be very thankful for any advise.

Did you test it with just a 9V battery, no DC jack?

Are you re-using the same transistors?
One may have gone bad...

Checked the 9v, power works correctly.

Also, i used different transistors. RM was a OC44, LPB-1 is a 2n3904

Check your jacks carefully... use an ohm meter, if you have one. Basically, triple-check ANYTHING you've re-used. We've seen jacks assembled wrong (insulator-plate-insulator-insulator-plate-plate). Pots that have failed. Switches that are bad. Proto-boards with the traces connected by a 'thread' of copper on the end of the PCB. The list of anomalies goes on. These are just some of the more recent findings on the boards.

When everything on the board follows the schematic, it works.
When it doesn't work, something on the board doesn't follow the schematic.
