Maybe I'll make a proco rat clone (but with some mods , it's cooler) and I think using mosfet cliping with BS170 like OCD .

Someone , here, have already tried mosfet clipping in RAT ? How is the sound compared to the stock pedal ?

Also , I think i'll put a switch to connect/disconnect the RC filter 47ohm/2u2 to have a kind of Overdrive sound (Ruetz mod I I believe )

I did both these mods with my rat.  The mosfet clipping (I used IRF 520s) is a little less distorted, with more of a smooth character.  It's not a huge difference, but it's worthwhile.  I would definitely recommend using an on-off-on switch so that in the middle position there are no clippers at all.  This gives a great tone.

Switching out the 47 ohm resistor makes a for a good, easy hi gain/low gain switch.  No reason not to try it out.

yeah ,  I read the beavis page about his proco rat mods. Actually without clipping diodes the AOP "clips" itself.

You used the IRF 520s alone or with additional diodes  (as assymetric wiring) ?

I used the mosfets + 1N34A as described at the Beavis Audio website.
