Hi,

Knocked up a Harmonic Percolater per George Giblet's schematic Rev 1.1 8 April 2007. Sounds pretty good but wanted to run a few things by the gurus here.

Used 2N404A (Q1) and 2N3565 (Q2) combo and got the following DC figures:

Battery supplying at about 9.25VDC

Total current draw approx 64 microamps.

Q1 C 1.54 VDC
Q1 B 1.72 VDC
Q1 E 1.83 VDC

Q2 C 2.72 VDC
Q2 B 2.36 VDC
Q2 E 1.83 VDC
all referenced to ground.

Do these figures look ballpark?

Has anyone AB'd different component types. I used metal film resistors, greencaps at C2, C3, C6, ceramic at C1 and electro at C4, 1N695s for D2 and D3. Is there much to be gained from using the exact specified component types?

I few mods I have tried is a toggle to lift D2 and D3. I think the pedal gives useable sounds both with didoes on and with didoes lifted.
Also have tried a toggle with centre off to select different values for C3. 102 gives a real trebley sound and the balance needs to be turned up to compensate for level drop. 102+103 is fatter and louder. 102+104 slightly fatter and slightly louder than 102+103.

Thinking Ill put these toggle switches in for a bit of extra versatility.

Any comments or advice welcome.

Thanks.
