So yeah. That was a fun two hours, but I'm getting nothing whatsoever unless it's bypassed. I have 10.5V at the jack and that's it. I should mention during the first go I hooked up a 9v Ac instead of DC adapter and fried the diode there. Diode replaced, IC replaced as it was really hot. Figured I just took that out too... So during that little smokefest, the indicator LED did light up. But now I have no signs of life.

No readings on any IC legs or transistors. I don't have any cold joints, they're all nice and shiny-like.

NEVERMIND. Shitty plug that came with the kit. Wouldn't read but .6V at those terminals. Hooked up a battery and all is good. Put the bare wires for the DC in on the plug end and it's good, too. Anyone know what the measurements/specs are for a replacement? I really hate batteries, unless they fix a noise problem. Thanks guys.

Sounds like AC got to the chip and polarized capacitors, diode [all polarized components].
The clipping diodes probably survived, can be measured.
