Need wiring help

Hi I am a complete noob, and am about to attempt my first pedal build. I am going to build the MXR distortion plus. I have found the layout here http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=115 but I am not sure how I would wire a foot switch into this as it doesn't show how to wire it like this does http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF8&langpair=auto|en&u=http://membres.lycos.fr/davpseudo/ffactorx.htm (scroll down for image).
