I was wondering if someone could tell me which direction the diodes of the j112s go on this layout.

There isn't a schematic for it and I searched for input buffers to see ifi could find a similar one, but no luck.

The layout in question differs from that echo base schematic as it uses jfet buffers instead of the 4066.

If you look closely at the layout, you will notice that each diode has 2 pads that you solder to. One is round and the other is square. The SQUARE pad is the one that you insert the BANDED side of the diode into (Cathode).

Hope that helps  ;)

Yes, that is awesome and totally helps!

Yup. Sorry Ian, I didn't even read the description under the layout. I just did a schematic search (which you already did).  :icon_redface: Do square pads in layouts indicate the negative side of a component? I remember a question like this in another post about capacitor orientation and the neg. side went to a square pad. Not trying to hijack your thread but I thought it might be a pertinent question to those who read it.

In every layout that I have built, the SQUARE pad on the layout was for either the diode CATHODE or the cap's POSITIVE leg when those particular parts were called for. Now, that may not be the "established norm" but, it has yet to change for me personally.  ;D

No worries! Hopefully we both learned something!
