Should i replace the input stereo jack on a 1983 Ibanez TS-9 with an open stereo jack or closed plastic jack? WHich one will ground better and keep pedal from producing noise when enabled??

Everyone has their opinions.  In my experience, open frame jacks last longer and make better contacts - others will disagree.  They really both work fine - in the tight space of a TS-9 a closed jack would be less likely to touch something and short out your signal.  If you're concerned about maintaining the "Market Value" I'd go with the same jack that was in there before.

I don't think a plastic jack or an open frame one will fit unless you make the hole in the case bigger.
When one of the jacks in mine broke the only thing I could find that would fit was a jack from a Boss pedal, even similar looking jacks that I had were slightly too wide.
