hi. accidentally got some jacks that have the lug that goes to the tip when no plug is in, then opens up when the jack is plugged in. Should have got the regular stereo jack (so there is no power w/o the plug like usual).
99% sure there's no way to use the shunt jack for the same purpose, but figured I'd ask in-case I was missing something obvious. It'll save me having to do a return with a ship fee that'll cost almost as much the jacks. It was my mistake, not the seller...  :icon_sad:
Thanks so much!

If they're stereo jacks, it should work fine, just leave the other lugs unsoldered.

Otherwise, you're breaking a connection when you plug in. You could POSSIBLY do something to switch power on, but then your power switching circuit would need power of its own... Worth doing? Doubt it.

If you're not using a battery, you can just ignore power switching altogether and save the hassle of re-shipping.

Save them to use as the inputs jacks on the guitar amps you'll be building sometime down the line... or just use them as the output jack on your pedals, no point in sending them back.
