rat mods made the pedal softer...

so I borrowed a friend's rat 2 with keeley mods and copied them in my pedal.  everything is functional, but the keeley rat is much louder than mine, even then mine was originally.  why would this be?  how could i increase the total volume potential of the pedal?

It could be a lot of things. I know that a person on this forum had a problem recently with his LPB-1 booster that he built. He fried the transistor or damaged it somehow and the pedal wouldn't hardly put out any volume (ironic for a boost pedal). What exactly is changed in the keeley mod? You could use an audio probe to trace where the signal starts to get quiet.
