Had the guts built for ages, but been waiting for the AC128s to arrive.

Plugged them in, all worked fine, but I don't seem to be able to get any osscilation effects from the pedal.

I used:

http://membres.multimania.fr/davpseudo/ffactorx.htm

as my guide, but built it on vero board.

Would my geranium transistors not be high enough gain to get the osscilation effects? Or have I just %^&*ed up my build?

I have checked it against schematics I have found and Can't find any errors

Any ideas? I can of course post pics etc But possibly unecessary if my first thought is correct.

Transistors I used are these from fleebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/400180772128

Thanks again,

Be weary of using AC128s in Fuzz Factories. Not only are there lots of fake transistors simply stamped with that part number, but the real Fuzz Factories don't even use them; it has ZVEX609 branded transistors which I assume are from some secret stock Zach keeps to himself.

But also make sure that you're on a setting that does induce oscillations, (for example Vol 10:00, Gate 7:00, Comp 10:00, Drive 12:00, Stab 12:00) and that you have the correct transistor in the correct socket in the correct orientation. Personally, I've tried some unlabeled Ge transistors from Small Bear, but they didn't work either. Right now I'm using some Si trannys, and though it ends up not sounding like a fuzz factory, I like it.

Still wondering if its the Gain of transistors or not, as they are matched pairs.

Ive been over the board about 20 times and I'm convinced i can;t find anything, but a fresh pair of eyes may be useful so I have a few pics just in case ive done somethign mind bogglingly stupid....

hi, the subject of gains in fuzzfactory transistors was in an older thread, there might be some good info there.

my fuzzfactory had gains of around 120 to 125 using RGs method. without this much gain , it is possible that the oscillations won't occur.

last i knew small bear stocked  high gain Ges.

I asked a similar question a while ago and got some good info...I used hfe's < 100

Woho, working now.

Turns out I fecked it up some how. How I am not too sure, as I went over the baord about 3 Gazzillion time. But I was convinced I had wired it wrong. SO I rebuilt the circuit using another diagram and hey presto, it works perfectly!

Perhaps I read the circuit wrong (more than likely) or perhaps the french site lied to me, who knows. But the Diag on here worked great!

I know have plenty of rediculous occilations, so I am happy!
