I've got the Voodoo Labs "Micro Vibe" pedal.Sounds pretty descent,But not 100% happy.I bought the GGG "Neovibe" pcb,Just haven't put it together yet.I listened to some clips on youtube of the Fulltone "Mini Deja Vibe 2".I have to say it sounds pretty amazing, but a little pricey for me right know :icon_frown:There's another one on youtube called "Heavens Vibe".It looks and sounds like the real deal.I tried to google it,but i couldn't find the company that makes it.Anyone have any thoughts on the best "Univibe Clone"?

The best Univibe clone is a Univibe clone ;D. The 'best' is always depends on what you think is best. Take a phase 90 and change the phaser capacitor values to different values like the vibe and it will sound more like a vibe...

IMO the best recreation of the Univibe is the Neovibe. Not a clone as it has some modifications but rather an improvement as it solves some issues with voltage stabilization/power supply.

I don't know about the others you mentioned but I think that the best Univibe, if it means you want a real Univibe sound, is the Neovibe.

I personally advise to use somewhat lower gain trannies (Hfe=200) in the input buffer and higher gain in the oscillator section. Me and another guy here experienced oscillation in the input buffer although hundereds of people didn't. Some people have problems with getting the oscillator to start, I didn't with Hfe=300 trannies.
If you have an DMM with Hfe measurement just measure a batch from low to high values.

Furthermore, the lamp is important. Some guy here posted a thread about month ago about various lamps he used. Some produce a better Vibe sound than others. Mine's a bit too thin with the 25mA small bear lamp, I will try to replace it later with the lamp he suggested.

Do you have the quote from the guy that had the right lamp you were talking about?

I'm writing this on my smartphone and I have a hard time copy-pasting links.

Go to 'build your own stompboxes' page 12, thread 'A little help with a neovibe?'.
