How does the GGG reverb compare to the malekko spring chicken and chicklet or the new boss fender emulators . I am trying to cop the fender blues jr tone with reverb set around 4 on my marshall 1959 slp reissue. Being that I tend to use my marshall (also an '86 jcm 800) around 95% of the time or am I trying to piss up a rope in a hurricane?

thanks sands

Pretty sure the Spring Chicken uses the same reverb brick as the GGG project, so it will sound pretty much the same.

What I would actually recommend is to buy one of the FV-1 based modules from OCT distribution. They have one with a spring reverb program that I would bet is way more convincing than the Belton brick. If you buy that module, the surface mount parts are taken care of so you could just build a board with input and output buffers and be good to go.

dangit, Taylor, that's like the third time I've seen you mention that FV-1 chip since I've been reading today.

You've convinced ME
