Question about a Satchurator's "More" switch

I've seen a Satchurator opened up and rewired for true bypass. I found a SCHEMATIC for this bad boy, but it is almost too small to read. Fortunately, between the two of these I've figured that the "More" section of the pedal is bypassed until turned on (for a long time I couldn't grip my head around more gain without a loss of volume).

My question  is: how would you go about duplicating this same kind of idea?

Would you use a SPDT momentary switch to turn it on? If so, what kind of a circuit would you use to create more gain without really effecting volume?

That schematic isn't too small - your browser is probably resizing it. Download the image and view it in your preferred picture viewer.

There are diode clippers before the volume control, which is passive. If you increase the gain of the opamp stage before it, you get more clipping but the volume stays roughly the same because the clipper limits the maximum swing of the signal. You'll find it a lot easier to get your head round the concept with dirt pedals if you replace "gain" with "distortion".
