MXR Blue Box Clone Help

I recently attempted to build an MXR Blue Box clone using this schematic (http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=73).  The problem that I'm having is that my ground node is reading as 9v.  So naturally I tried checking all of my ground connections and my 9v connections I as far as I can see there is nothing wrong.  I'm ready to take it all apart and start over, but I thought that I'd ask here first:  Is there anything else that could possibly be wrong with my circuit other than some crossed wires?  Possibly a chip burning out?  Thanks in advance for any help.

How about D1?  Sure you got that little demon oriented correctly?

Yeah, D1 looks good.  Is there anyway that a burnt out chip or transistor could cause this problem?

I need some additional help with my blue box clone.  Now I'm able to get a sound out of the pedal, but it is extremely difficult to get any sound out of the 3 highest strings.  I haven't played an actual blue box in years, but I don't remember it acting like this.  The only thing that I have done differently from the schematic is that I left C11 out.  Does this sound like one of my chips is bad?  A transistor is bad? or possibly something else?  Thanks for any help that you can give me. 

If it might be a chip or transistor, how can I check to see if they are ok?

I just realized that I left out C11 when it should be C9.  Is this my problem, I'll fix this and see what happens.

Hello.. I was thinking about attempting this box. I don't know my butt from a hole in the ground when it comes to this stuff, but I can figure it out.

I am wondering if someone could please take a picture or two of their finished board..It would help me to just "see it". I am going to get a premade board from Tonepad.

Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Especially when it comes to the mods.. What do they look like? I don't quite understand..
