Has anyone here ever owned a '70s/80s Morley Phaser or Flanger?  They're the silver model in the standard Morley wah enclosure.  There are some on craigslist with a few issues, just wondering if they're worth making an offer on and repairing.  Also, thanks to everyone that helped me with the Dynacomp wiring over the holidays... it works like a charm.

70's Flanger with a Wah enclosure? If the price is right doesn't sound like you can go too wrong.

I'm guessing Reticon SAD1024 though so if they don't work at all, be warey of the costs you might incur repairing it... if they just have slight issues probably electrolytic/tantalum/bias related.

The Phasers probably wont use any hard to find components so that'd be alright.

Really depends what the problems with them are and how much they cost, sure they sound kinda cool.

I have the flanger and have played with the Phaser (and would buy one if I found one for the right price).

My experience with Morley pedals is that most of the time, when there is a prob, it's with the black curtain that interferes with the photo resistor being misaligned or even simpler-the bulb is burned out.

I have the PFL and it's my favorite flanger of all time, I bought mine for $40 because the bulb was burnt out.  I recently gave mine a tune up using a combo of the CFL and the ADA service manual because I can't find the schem for the PFL and now I love it even more than before.

So yes, buy it the worst thing that could happen is the SAD1024 can be expensive and there are two of them, but usually it's exactly what Roger said.
