I build this the other day.  I used bc558's instead.  With the bc558's it didn't sound or feel like the Real Zvex Fuzz Factory.
As for mods, you can play around with capacitors.

Good Luck.

will i be ok with these ac128's

That depends on the hfe & leakage...I found it's always best to just try a ton of different transistors and stop when the sound is good for your ears...

On the other hand, that pedal is so wild that it may be hard to determine what's best, which is why I asked for a starting point (an approximate hfe) in this thread:

good luck

hfes suitable for a fuzz face will do the job.
I found a small cap from input to ground most useful, 820pf worked for me.
also a 47uf cap across +9v to ground will help control the oscillations, I found it just oscillates uncontrollably without one.
you could also try raising the 0.1uf cap for extra beef, or as joe gagan suggests, parallel it with a 3.3uf with each cap connected to a 100k pot for a tone control (see his easy face schematic).
refer to the schem at zvex's site for the right wiring of the pots (in inventobox projects).

I think that's the layout that I used. I used AC128s and it sounds pretty good. You can get a lot of cool sounds out of it. The problems is deciding on a sound, I can stay on one setting. I think it'd be great for the studio, If you use fuzz.

I think the stab and maybe the gate knobs work the opposite way on my build. Does anyone know if it's supposed to be that way or if I just got confused?

for the 'regular' fuzz sounds, I think the stab knob (volts) should be at max and the gate and comp knobs at min.
a lot of those veros have the wiring arse over tit, which is why I suggest referring to the original schematic.
it doesn't really matter though.

will i need to put a trim pot in to bias the ac128's?
