What stompbox would best give me this type of tone? (Youtube song)

It's Lita Ford's Don't let me down tonight. Anyway I love the crunchy rhythms and the cool lead tones. What would be the best pedal to build (or buy) that would help me get this tone through a Marshall 2204 or 2203 master volume?

Here's the clip:

DOD OD250 maybe. Possibly a distortion+ with the gain turned down a bit.

Pedal love

I heard she has used Eventide units as well, could be rumors???

I think a boss metalzone would be able to nail those tones, or come really close... It has a good tone stack and plenty of gain.

Marshall 2204 or 2203 master volume?
I think you have a workable choice for amp  :), but 'loud' is when the speaker compression comes into play, not that I heard that type of sound on this recording. Mostly it sounded like fairly heavily processed at small signal levels.
Not sure how the 'master volume' works...hopefully different that the ones I tried/had installed in a 100W Plexi [long time ago, preamp tube disto deal...blech.
  For sure: what pickup matters.
Otherwise a Shredmaster has nice good control and was a very good choice when I was using a 1959 RI.
I could never crank up these big amps to 'big amp sound' levels, and relied on 'internal' distortion to kick the grind-level more than I would on a smaller amp.  I think that's what the deal is with this mix: Big amp cleans [with the chorus/reverb/comp or whatever, the clean intro part sound], require big amp, heavy compressed/clipped/voiced sounds that come in the distorted rythm part sound like...any hard clipper [probably with help from reverb at least.

Convention creates following, following creates convention.

This is one of the first times I've said this, but it sounds just like the pedal I designed in college (about 5 years back) with gain set at about 3 o'clock.  You'll be happy, it's a real easy build.

**edit**
Dragonfly even did a really nice vero layout for it (He used the old version with a 5k gain pot, use a 2k gain pot for the best gain control): http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/album17/album06/5TH_GEAR_OVERDRIVE_VERO.gif.html
