Naive Wah Inductor Question

The right inductor for a wah is 500mH and has a "magic" core.

Instead of replacing an inductor having the wrong inductance and/or core, is it possible to tweak other components like the 4.7uf cap to gnd or the 33k across the inductor to get the right sound?
