Ribbon wire splice ?

  Monotron Ribbon's ribbon wire looks like electrostatic chip package bag material, with three black stripes [actually 4, but the last one ends 1/4'' from the end of the 4'' ribbon connector.
 On the board are the SMT's exposed jack lugs...ughhh..maybe if I had a multipin header that matched the tight, teeny lug spacing...
 Otherwise is there some way to 'reliably' connect to the ribbon cable or just inside the ribbon control strip perhaps ?
  Maybe a 'puncture connector' like Uhaul used for taillight hookups ?
