powering up the Easy Vibe

I finished up and easy vibe build and it works great stand alone with a battery.
When putting it on my board and running it off the my voodoo pedal power, it does not work properly when first powered up.
The signal goes through the circuit with little effect if any.  If I pull out the power jack for a few seconds and then reinsert it works perfectly.
If i do not us it for a while and then go back to it, it seems to revert back to non functioning condition. and again, if I pull the jack and power it down then reinsert, it works fine
Any ideas as to whats going on with this?
