Cry Baby raw distorsion mod question

hi!
I was messing with my CGB-95 dunlop cry baby and when I bypass the 390 (R9) ohm resistor with a wire, and swap the 68K (R15) to a 47K, I get, with my bass, a raw distorsion in the mid frequency, halfway thru the pedal

but I WANT this distorsion on all range, from high to low! The frequencies seem to oscillate too, so I thought that maybe someone can guide me to get to what I want.

the sound I a little short on mid range too, but I can figure it later.

Might be dangerous if you do not know what it does.

Do you mean 390 Ohms (not "390K")?

Yes, shorting the emitter resistor increases the gain, which really reduces the distortion threshold. Lowering the 68K further increases stage gain. It should distort "bad", which may be good.

You could try increasing the 0.01uFd in series with 68K/47K, to extend the corruption to lower frequencies. But all of this is inside a tight filter-peak. It may not be possible to get "that sound" over a wide range.

I've done something that get me near to my wanted result; swap the o.1uF C1 cap to 1uF.
