Line Level Splitter

I need to build a mono line level splitter for my current band for stage use so we can be in complete control of our sound on stage.

Everything we do is at line level. I.e. Mixer outputs, Laptop outputs etc and also in Mono.

For simplifciation what I need is:

mono input going to three mono outputs. (all at line level)

I have checked out RGs hum free splitter and would like to ask if this would work? As  this is for guitar level and not line level I guess it won't. What modifcations would I require to get it to work?

Any help would be much appreciated.

If your signal is already at line level....then it's being sourced from a low impedance output somewhere  - therefore IMHO there's nothing to stop you splitting the signals with Y cables. By adding in an active circuit, you're just adding in more things to go wrong, extra noise blah blah.

That's cool. So I definitely wouldn't need something like an opamp splitter?

Definitely?

I don't think it's definite.

A gurner said, if it's already line level, it's from a low enough impedance source to not need further buffering. Probably.

If there was not an issue with hum, you'd be fine with a Y cable. Try it. If it hums, you will need some kind of ground splitting/isolation to get rid of the hum. But chances are better with a line level source than with guitar level.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
