If I want to make a dr. boogie with mpf102 instead of the j201 do I need change any of the biasing resistors or is it just an easy swap?

ayayay!

Why do you want to?  I think you can put a MPF102 in Q1, but the other should prolly remain J201.  And yes, no matter what you do, even if you just swapped the 5 exisiting J201's around, you'd need to rebias.

I dont need so much gain and as much as I love many characteristics of the DB I do not like how bright it is. Not sure that mpf102 would change it but I am curious to hear the difference.

I dont mean the trim pots. I mean the source resistors.
