I want to build a noise gate and im new at modding/building effects so if you could help me out with using simple explanations that would be cool.

If you have never built effects before I STRONGLY recommend that you look into this forum, do a lot of reading, and maybe try a smaller project first.

having a satisfactory experience with noise gates requires a certain modicum of knowledge about your signal path and about signal paths in general, in addition to understanding gates.

So, how do you wish to use it?  What is the noise problem you want to address, and what pedals do you intend to use it with?
