If I want to shoehorn a different tonestack on a daughter board can I just take a wire from the red arrow to the daughterboard? Obviously I wouldn't populate the rest of the tone stack in the stock BSIAB2 layout.

This should connect from C9 (1uF)Blue arrow in the GGG scheme here http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_bsiab2_sc.pdf?phpMyAdmin=78482479fd7e7fc3768044a841b3e85a

If I'm reading it correctly (maybe not) C9 onwards is tonestack -> volume -> output.

I believe as such, you should be right to take whatever is after that trim between Q5 and C9 in schematic - apply knife, and replace it with a new tonestack and volume control/output circuit, bringing the daughter-board GND back at one point to common GND too.

I THINK....

I assume C9 is the typical bootstrap cap. this leads up to the 104 cap where the red arrow marks So I assume if I want to keep C9 which I assume I will, maybe not 1uF but I assume it needs to be there to connect a tonestack. Something about Electrons moving, ac and dc and whatnot. IDK....

Could be, in fact, now you've put it out there - I would leave C9 and cut AFTER there to end of schem, 1uf isn't going to be cutting (noticeably/at all) into the sound if I'm wrong, wheras having it missing if I'm wrong could be bad...

That's my intention I sort of came up with my own layout for the Pinnacle II (I believe you commented there) but the powers that be haven't gone over the layout to verify if its usable. So I figure I would etch the BSIABII board and play with it.

The bootstrap cap C9 connects directly to the bottom of the 104 I have marked with the red arrow. So I shouldn't need to modify the board in any way. Just solder a wire there run that to a daughterboard with a James Tone Stack and a recovery stage (probably a j201 based one since that is was the Great Mr Wampler uses in his Pinnacles.

Worst case scenario if I drill out all the holes I can still have a usable BSIABII board
