Gating a feedback loop?

I recently installed a feedback loop on my EHX Bass Big Muff. I love the sound, but I don't love the constant drone note that accompanies it being engaged when it's not in use. I saw recently that you can have a gated feedback loop on a DS1 using a transistor, and I was curious if I could do the same thing in my Muff?

I'm sort of a rookie at this whole pedal modding thing, so I apologize if this question has been asked before.

Could you post a schematic of the Big Bass Muff (I'm lazy) and especially  the trick that was done to the DS1?

a quick and dirty solution to try would be to tack a pair of anti parallel diodes in series with the feedback wire... anything below a certain level will be cut, and lager signals will just be cut below the threshold of the diode, so it will add some crossover distortion to your 'loop' signal, but it may be cool. after all once you put some crossover dist into your signal, its hard to clip away later... and for a gainy big muff it could add some hair to an already fuzzed signal...
otherwise a slightly misbiassed transistor stage will do it...
