Hi,

I just plugged in my old micro synth that used to work fine, but now I have no power, no led, to signal bypassed nothing.  I haven't started to troubleshoot yet, but I thought I would check here for places to start looking.  I did measure voltage into the box and off of the transformer, those both look good.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

something which is common to the items mentioned is a good ptslooking.

He means search the forum for other micro synth or similar power issues. ptslooking = Place to start looking

Thanks.  Started to last night but didn't get far, I plan to continue this evening.

I've spent some time poking around the circuit and I'm suspecting that the 2n6110 MOSFET might be the problem.

I've been looking for info on a replacement but I'm having a problem, does anyone know a suitable replacement?

thanks.

Have you tried looking at something so simple as the footswitch? I've heard of many people being a little too careless with these brittle little dudes, stomping too hard, then probing for hours to find it's a bad switch...

That's my best guess, anyhow.  As for replacements of mosFETs, I don't know of any offhand.  Why dont you try poring over some different datasheets?  Maybe you'll learn something along the way, even if you don't find the "right" one.  Hell, that's what I've done with trannies and tubes...

great resources can give you great inspiration...

Still a tubey noobie. Been doing this a while, and still can't figure much out, smh.
