trying to learn some basics and don't understand a couple of things in this schematic http://gaussmarkov.net/layouts/drboons/project.pdf
I am specifically lookings at these 3 caps and 2 resistors before the volume control. What does the 27n cap do? why does the 15k/2.2k lowpass repeat itself?

Rc network cuts the bass before it enters the driven FET stages.
gives a non-fuzz-fart distortion sound at high gains. Found in a lot of Marshall amps as well.

thanks for replying. I haven't got to that part of the circuit yet :) I am talking specially about the lowpass networks and 27nf cap before the volume pot.

The 27nF is mostly for AC coupling.  It blocks DC voltage from leaving the pedal.  It'll roll off some bass, but the cutoff is probably pretty low.  The duplicated hf network creates a steeper slope.  It's basically a two pole filter.
