Hi to everybody,
I am having a problem with my Neovibe Build. This is not my first build, I have made a Build your Own Clone (Large Beaver and a Fuzz Face.) So I decided to build a Neovibe as I love the sound and these seem cheaper and better quality than the ones you can buy. As it is as close as the original. So here we go, I built it and it's not working. The bulb is pulsating and the depth seems to be working but there is no sound! All the wiring around the board i.e. the jack/ stomp switch, power are all correct as following the GGG Board and geofex info sheets. All parts were bought at Small Bear.

To tell you the truth, I think it has something to do with the 2n5088 Transistors. We did not measure the voltage as it looks like you have to, we just put them in one after the other. If this is true can you please let me know and give me advice.
I am running it on 18 volts dc400m is this too much ?

                                                                                          Please help,
                                                                                                         Yours sincerely, Nigel.

You say it does not work and you don't supply any information. So the possibilities of what goes wrong are infinite.

There's a debug thread on top of the list of the build your own stompbox topic. Read it and then report back ;D.

Thanks for the help
Before i try to debug this neovibe ,i would like to say that i tested this build without puting it in it aluminium case, would it be best to try it in its case?

R.G.

No difference for these purposes whether it's in the case or not. In fact, you'd probably have to remove it to get to all the voltage measurement points.

Go read "Debugging: What to do when it doesn't work" and follow the instructions.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Good news, I have my neovibe fully working  :D looked at the debugging section and followed the instructions then i came to the part where it said check correct components and thats where i found the problem. I put the 1 IC 78L15 in Q 1 and I put a 2N5088 in the IC slot. So the lesson I learnt was to check the components. Thanks to everybody who helped me. And it does sound absolutely fantastic and well worth the trouble.,
                                                                                 Many thanks Nigel    :D
