rgb led

OK, i just bought a rgb led. it has 4 lugs but i don't know how to wire them.
my friends told me to stick a resistor on it. I'm googling it and i found this site http://wiring.org.co/learning/basics/rgbled.html 

so here's my question. if i only want to use red and blue color, can i just put a resistor on red and blue lugs and ignoring the green lug?     and sorry for my bad english

just put a resistor on the groung leg..(2)..thatll be ok..no need for a resistor on every leg...

and use whichever you like...
