I have an idea i'd like to try with the Ge NPN fuzz face currently on my breadboard... i'd like to add a switch to change the output tap from the common FF spot to directly off the Q2 collector, and also add a diode clipping section a la Muff Fuzz. Ideally, both of these would happen with one toggle switch, adding a cool option to an already cool-sounding fuzz. i'm staring at the schematic but am having trouble envisioning the signal path. any ideas?

Exactly what i needed, thanks! I knew it should be way easier than what i had in my head.

will do, hopefully when i get home tonight. got a couple Ge diodes to try and a few Si too.

it sounded... interesting. Si diodes worked much better than Ge... gave the tone a nice buzz, just like the Muff Fuzz. Also reminded me a bit of the Metal Muff.  Didn't have the time to breadboard it with toggle switch or trimmer, but i'm curious how much control the trimmer will provide. Don't know if it's the sound for me, but def a fun experiment that i'll parlay into other designs. Thanks again!
