I have a Line 6 DL4 here that has an odd problem.

It passes the signal when off just fine, but when you turn on a delay it distorts and clips really bad - so bad that you hear nothing but static really.
I've tried a different EPROM from a known good unit and the one in this unit works fine in another good DL4, so that's not the issue.
I've tried resetting the unit several times - did no good.
Does this sound like a bad opamp or do you have any other suggestions as to what it could be?

To me this doesn't sound like a bad opamp - more like a broken feedback loop for an opamp.
There are two things I would do if I were you
1)make good visual inspection to see any cold joints - may  be try to heat some of them
2)check signal on every opamps output with signal probe - may bet this could help to localize the problem.
Since these units  are  not  cheap and really nice  to play - it is definetely worth trying to repairit.

If it's a digital effect, it might be worth turning the volume down on whatever comes before it as the signal might just be too hot.
I made the transistor angry.
