Hey Deadastronaut, I'm glad you got yours to work, cause I'm having some trouble with mine.  :icon_cry:

Can anyone please post the readings of a working circuit? I have mine breadboarded right now, and I'm getting some weird values on IC2 pins. For instance, pin1 is at 0.28-0.44 depending on the trimpot setting.
I've also put a 500k pot instead of the trimpot in an effort to try and fix it, got nothing. I've just checked every point looking at the schematics and it all seems fine.
I'm using MPF102s, and I've used the geofex fetmatching circuit to find two with Vgs 2.94 and 2.99. Close enough, right?

If anyone is willing to help me out, I can jot down all the readings and post here.

Thanks!

Please read "Debugging: what to do when it doesn't work" and follow.

Thanks R.G., but I've actually got it to work! It's 2AM over here and this little thing is alive!  :icon_razz:
The problem was that the Vcc track of my breadboard isn't very good, so the voltage went from 9V to 0.6 from a hole to the other. Very weird, so I added a jumper over those holes.
As soon as I did that, the pin1 voltage started oscillating. I added the LED to make it easier to see the speed.

I got some sweep with the 500k pot (instead of a trimpot), but then I tried a 220k trimpot with no luck. The 330k trimpot did the trick.
I used so white noise input to help me set the trimpot. Sounds awesome! Too bad I can't up the volume right now...

Next step is to put it inside a box as cool as the one from chromesphere.

hey miggaiowski,

Thanks for the compliment.

I think the enclosure was the 'orange sparkle' from mammoth from memory. The paint effect looks really dam cool, unfortunately the paint job is a little cr2ppy.  One of those stickers in "p45" was, strategically placed :)

Glad to hear you got it going and good luck with the rest of it!

Hey chromesphere, could you please post a picture of the inside of your box?
I'm planning the drilling....

Hey Migga,

No problem!

Heres 2 photos of the 'upskirt' shot as you asked for.  I've moved the board out of the way in the 2nd one so you can see whats going on.

If your knew to this, try using a madbean drilling template to help you line everything up (sorry to plug another site, just trying to help).  Print it off, tape it down, and center punch the holes. Remove the template, and drill where the center punches are.  You still have to tweak it a bit i find but its much easier to line everything up then by using a metal ruler and a sharpie :)

Good luck

Really nice, Paul! Thank you!

I ended up drilling it before seeing your pics (couldn't wait). I turned pretty much the same, but I am gonna use a battery right by the 3pdt, instead of the external power supply.
Again, thanks, it looks great.
