Hey forum. I got a Rocktron Hush used for 20 bucks because the LED don't wanna work. I'm gonna pul it apart pretty quick here and take a look at it, but does anyone know what kind of LED I need to replace it with?

Mark Hammer

You can replace it with any LED other than infra-red or ultra-violet.  You may have to adjust the value of the current-limiting resistor feeding it, so that it is neither too dim to see, blindingly bright, or re-fried.  Usually a 4k7 value is enough to figure out what your next move would be (too bright? move on up to 10k;  too dim?, move on down to 2k2)

Thanks for the reply Hammer. I opened it up and it turns out tha thte LED was no longer attatched to the PCB. I put a power supply on it @ 2 volts and it worked. So me and a buddy trouble shot the circuit and we resoldered it to the board, hoping on our educated guess as to which way it needed to be soldered on. I'll find out tonight when I go home and If it still doesn't turn on I'll pull it off, retest it to make sure I didn't blow it, and resolder it the correct way.  :icon_mrgreen: Wish me luck!

P.S. I just wanted to point out that I got this thing for $20.00 becuase the LED didn't Light...but it was good and just needed to be reattatched, lol.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, but it can also be a real money-=aver from time to time!!  :icon_wink:

Tell me about it. That pedal is $80.00 new and after shipping and tax it was only $32.00 and I didn;t need to buy a single part to fix it. I was so stoked to find that the LED still worked. Werking on aircraft electronics definetly helps, and there's always some here who knows just a little more than I do that I can bounce ideas off of or get advice/help from. unfortunatly I am the only guit/pedal/amp tweaker in here, lol. Anyway, I managed to make it home during my lunch break and test it out. IT WORKS!!!!! Yay!!!!
