HAMMERTONE tutorial? anyone?

love your hammertone boxes, you really seem to have the process nailed.

I've been using hand painted Hammerite with very inconsistent results.
It's very hard to get the thickness just right, too thick and it takes weeks to cure (if ever) and you blobs and sagging, too thin and you loose the effect and get brush lines in the finish.
I'll always sand, wipe with alcohol and prime and take great care with dust and drying but it's very frustrating at times.

Yes, it's trial and error for sure.
I have not done it but try dabbing a porous sponge in the can and
dab it on. The sponges pattern will help it hammer I think.

The Bass Flanger is a BYOC Analog Flanger for Bass, comes with the switch standard.

the letter is those dry transfer rub-on's that I seal with clear coat.  I'll make some notes when I get around to my tutorial but its pretty simple.  hardest part is lining them up but painter's tape works well for that.

got my wires cross about duplicolor.

how does the cold paint help john?

I looked on the site of BYOC, but I didn't found any bass flanger. I found only this one: http://www.buildyourownclone.com/flanger.html. This is what you're talking about?

On the other hand, I have an MXR Flanger. Do you have any ideea how to modify it for bass?

That's the one.  I really didn't modify it for bass, but I built it for a bass player so I named it that.  The BYOC instructions have some suggestions on how to modify the mix for bass, but in the end I think he preferred the deeper guitar settings.

Great samples.  Cearly, not a straight hammertone spray.  What did you do to treat the paint to look like that?

Those are all secondary application colors.
Spray one color then spray another over it right away.
Which color you spray first vs second will change the color.
Low humidity and weather (hot or cold out) will come into play as well.
Experiment on small pieces as above to find what you can come up with.
