I am really excited by the idea of fuzz projects that oscillate...i love weird noises!..preferably transistor based.

even more, I would love to understand how they work. is it just an unstable circuit that causes the oscillation or are they oscillator
circuits that are somehow modified for audio input?  is it neg feedback? positive feedback?

if i was going to start trying to make my own, where would I start? (in all the high gain transistor circuits I have been building, none have oscillated)

thanks for any help or info!

here is one I made, http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=92628.msg793597#msg793597

just remove the 15k resistor. its rubbish. I have only built it in 3 pieces. all 3 peices work. I just haven't got around to building it and putting it together. although I did bench test it with a 330k feedback resistor. all the added stuff is the feedback gate for a more proper usable oscillating fuzz the stops when you mute the strings or your note fades out.

+1 on the new PU, awesome awesome awesome box. Fairly easy built, incredible versatility. Check out this song; http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10447401&q=hi&newref=1, the guitar solo from 2:03 to 2:36 is straight PU. Just a small glimpse at what you can twist out of this box  :icon_mrgreen:
