How do I wire the volume control for the Bazz Fuss on the input of the circuit on a solderless breadboard?
I've been making myself crazy thinking I had a problem with components, and the whole time it's probably my goofy brain :icon_redface:
I have three wires hooked to the A100k pot...one goes to the common ground...does the wiper and the other wire go in line with the input cap??? Probably not...
...it's hard for someone new to the hobby of pedal building to hit and miss...Thank you all for this tremendous resource...

Thanks again to David for his generous help on my previous post

the middle lug goes to the input of the circuit. so yeah the middle lug goes to the input cap. one leg to ground and one leg to the tip of the input jack.

if I move the tip of the input away from the input cap strip I get alot of hissing and static...
middle terminal goes inline with circuit input and one wire goes to common ground but...i'm sure your right, i'm just screwing something up

it seemed to work the way you said on the output of the circuit, but not the input

when I wire it that way on the input of the circuit I get the sound of the fuzz only when the pot is maxed...I get static and buzz during the whole middle sweep, and silence at the other end...does this help figure out what i'm doing wrong??? :icon_redface:sorry

I got it working!!!
The output level/volume is wired as described by EATyourGuitar (thank you for the help)...the input level/volume is wired with the wiper lug and ground lug wired to ground and the remaining lug in line with the input cap...and it finally works!!!
Thank you guys for the help (David Edgar and EATyourGuitar) and the whole board...

the input vol should be wired exactly like the output vol. where the output volume has the middle lug going to the tip of the out jack, the input vol should have the middle lug going to the input of the breadboard. the middle lug goes to the next thing after the volume knob. all the static is just what you get on a breadboard. you dont get static in a metal box. you just have to trust me on that. wiring a pot like a 2 leg shunt on the input is not the way most people do it. when you use all 3 lugs of a pot, it makes a voltage divider. they sound better to me. they dont change the tone as you go through the range of the pot.

The middle lug goes to the breadboard input/cap, I put one to the common ground, and  where does the other one go???
I put it in line with the input cap and it seems to work (middle lug and 1 lug to input, last lug to common ground)...
Thank you for your patience EATyourGuitar.....

I have the middle lug of the pot inline with the input cap...I put one lug to ground ...It's the third lug I need to know and,  I have the input jack to ground and would the tip of the input be inline with the input cap?
Jeffrey

EATyourGuitar

yeah the other outside lug of the pot goes to the tip of the input jack

Thank you thank you!!!
What confused me was that the center lug, the other outside lug, and the tip of the input jack are all inline with the input cap...I hope I didn't screw that up...
Thank you for your patience, truly

I rebuilt the whole circuit from scratch, and still no luck getting the input volume to function on the breadboard without a ton of static...I tried different pots and even a different breadboard and still no luck...I don't know, has anyone put a level control on the input of a breadboarded circuit and had similar problems???
I know breadboards can be noisy but this just isn't functioning...

Thank you to EATyourGuitar for alot of time with advise
