Ok, try using the 10k primary of a transformer (like orman's pickup sim), signal in one end, the other end connected to the clippers, and those connected to ground. Another, to have adjustability, is to use a 500k pot to ground right after the transformer, with the top of the schottky clippers on the wiper, and signal just coming from the pot/transformer junction. That transformer seems to be pretty "hot" without the 250k/250k paralleled to ground. You can also keep the clippers from the signal to ground and use the 500k for tone control (or 250k, guitar style). This shapes where the energy bunches up before dropping off, frequency-wise.
