Hi all (first I wrote unintentionally, but quite accurately, "High all")

Iam working on a 19" distortion unit, based on guitar stompboxes. The idea is to split the original signal into 4 and blend them together after different processing:

1. just the clean signal
2. The signal below 450Hz, this will be processed by an austin gold. I love that sound on lower frequencies.
3. the signal above 450Hz. Iam still looking for an overdrive for this, but I tend towards a modded Austin Gold.
4. the very high freq part of the spectrum processed by Mark Hammer's and RG's version of Jules Ryckebusch's "Harmonic Sweetener".

The filters are to precisely just fit the desired distortion frequencies with the original. After finishing this part of the unit, I will start working on adding parallel compression and some eq, but first things first.

I would like to modify the Austin Gold for the high freq band. I found a mod for a bit more drive: So removed D4 and swopped the 10k drive pot for a 47K, this results in more drive available from about half way through the pots travel, I guess its about 2x the stock amount). But I would also like to modd the pre bass so it works in the higher freq spectrum, so I will be  capable of  emphasizing the to be distorted frequency.

With a lot of help and a lot of hard work, we came up with the schematic of the Austin Gold:

So any input on how to change the Gold would be highly appreciated, or maybe any one of you has an idea which stompbox or design would be  even better for the high band. I tried a few myself, but I found that most of them sort of clutter the high freq too much, the Gold is much more transparent....

Thanks a lot!
