Help with a Boss PS-5 Super Shifter

Having volume drop issues with a PS-5 Super shifter.  They aren't bad, but enough to be really annoying.  Is there any way put an adjustable output on there.  I know the circuit is SMD, but I can deal with that.  Just need some input or schematic....IOW a little bit of direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'd picture if it's just not kicking out enough volume, you don't have any choice but to add a booster of some kind?
