It seems to describe a nice method to approximate the input impedance of a device.  A couple of questions:

1.  Do you need to plug in your guitar to the input to get a measurement?
2.  Assuming this method is reasonably accurate, does anyone know how one could calculate or measure/determine/approximate the output impedance of the same device?

There must be a way, as many effect manufacturers will post both the input and output impedance of their effects in the product specs.  For example, Fulltone indicates their Catalyst pedal has an input impedance of 1 meg and an output impedance of 10K in the product specs.

Thanks!
