770939X SGS 17240 Does anyone know what this is?

Hi, I came accros 10 of these 770939X SGS,  and I'm just wondering what they are, and if they are usefull for anything, cant find any info on them,  they are a round can like transistor with 8 pins, I cant upload a picture for some reason.. All I know about them is they have been sitting in a drawer since the 80's
