Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum.. and as a first project, I wanted to build a tap tempo box for multiple delays.

What I have in mind is a two footswitch pedal.. the first switch to toggle between A/B and A+B (with 3 LEDs to indicate A,B,A+B).. and the second one for the actual tap tempo.  Is this something that can be done?

Any help for this noob would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Search tap tempo and know more than I do about it pretty quickly, there have been numerous thread-build-reports recently.
See GEO for info, there are attractive switching alternatives detailed, diagrammed and discussed there.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Thanks for the reply.  I did do a search for "tap tempo".. and while I did get a lot of useful info, it still left me confused.

I guess the most difficult part of this project would be the footswitch toggling w/ led indicators.  Can anyone chime in about that?

Also, what is GEO? sorry, I'm not familiar with all the terms.

Thanks!

What delays are you tap tempoing?  Are they existing pedals with tempo ins, or are you building/nodding pedals which wouldn't otherwise have this feature.  The first case is a fairly simple momentary switch, normally open, to short the control jack when stomped.  The other is more involved, and I can't even start to help.

The A/B/Y with LEDs is easy if you're willing to use two switches - one for A/B, the other to override that for Y.  These are all over the place.  What worrys me a little is that the two control voltages might mess with one another, but I guess a DPDT tap switch and a little rethink of the A/B/Y function should fix that.  You might need 3poles at least on the Y switch.
